Federal Criminal Defense

Federal Criminal Defense

I know the tremendous power of the United States government when directed against an individual person. As a 27-year-old newly-minted federal prosecutor with limited life experience, I marched into court, armed with resources and imprimatur, and charged decades-long mandatory minimum crimes. Such power must be wielded carefully and checked frequently.

People facing federal criminal investigations and charges need a voice to protect their rights, acknowledge their humanity, and navigate them forward in a flawed system and in life.

My practice is brave, fueled by both peace and passion, accepts complexity, and is committed to dignity for all.

In this work, I typically charge flat fees instead of billing hourly. Flat fees give clients certainty—a custom price that fits the specific matter, which clients know before the representation begins. There are no surprises or unexpected bills.

I practice in northern Virginia and DC.

I’m committed to building warm and connecting relationships. When it benefits clients, I partner with other attorneys, consultants, and service providers.
